Mason's 2!

We woke up Sunday morning to a 2 year old! And to start off the day he decided it was time to bring out the terrible 2's tantrums. oh the joy. Because of that we got to church 10 min late which put us out in the foyer while they were passing the sacrament. Then walks in the Prophet who also was having a birthday that day! We had no idea him and Mason shared the same birthday, and to have each other wave and smile at one another. A perfect way to start off church :)
When we got home we changed his crib to a toddler bed and gave him the new bedding, leaf over his bed, table and chairs along with the other gifts we bought for him prior to his b-day saying that it was going to be for his birthday but that never stops us from buying more. lesson maybe? learned. Alan's cousins bought him a little grocery cart which he is stoked over, he loves to push the cart when we are at the store. Grandma and Grandpa Wilson gave him $30 to help buy a rug for the room and Grandma Rose gave him a leap frog movie and book.
He slept in his new bed all night in the wrong direction :) We couldn't help but sneak a few peaks. legs hanging off the side, so cute. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASON!!!

Learning How To Sew

Let me emphasize the word LEARNING. It is a totally different language to me. I have to talk some of the instructions through with Alan so it makes more sense with what I'm doing. There is this great book I'd like to get called 1-2-3 Sew! It gives you 11 chapters with 3 projects to do per chapter to master a new skill, it even comes with patterns. Which is totally unlike what I've been doing lately. No patterns just reading off a piece of paper to try and figure it out and pray that after its sewn its going to be the right size. I started with a blanket and I ended up needing a walking foot for my machine ( I thought it was going to bust my needle and break my machine) so I had to stop until I get it in the mail. The next is a dress I made from one of Alan's old dress shirts he never wore. And last is a case I made for Mason to use during sacrament meeting that holds paper and colored pencils. As you can tell I use a lot of the same fabric. That's because I'm a freaking genius and ordered like 5x the amount of fabric I really needed for the blanket. But it worked in my favor so I could try all the new things. (and yes I still have a ton of fabric left :))
So if any of you dear friends know of easy fun things to sew let me know. I'd like to try more! Thanks girls!
