Mason Update

Great News! All of Mason's tests came back normal except for his hemoglobin is slightly low. So we have to go back and get it checked one more time in 3 months. He is now only throwing up a tiny bit once every few days which I can totally deal with! Thanks for all the prayers and concerns. We just have to guess that he is so small because of all the energy he has :)

What we thought was going to be a normal day....

We didn't take any pictures since we were only planning on a doctor visit for Mason's acid reflex and a bad cold. Just so you can get the scoop, Mason was throwing up about 5 times a day after he would eat, drink, get excited, or move. Even sitting still he would still throw up, we just never knew when the next time would happen. We have taken him in several times for normal visits to a different doc and he said he would grow out of it but he never did. He is normal for height, 29 1/4 inches, but less then 3% for weight. Needless to say we went to a different doc and he is now only throwing up once every couple days about with help of prescription. We went back today for the follow up and he still has not gained any weight, he is still exactly the same weight last time we weighed him 16 lbs 12 oz. So we know its not the Acid Reflex that is causing it. After Mason did a pee test he sent us on our way to Primary Children's Hospital to do a Sweat Chloride test and some blood work to check if he has any diseases that would cause him being so small. I'm optimistic that he will be fine and he is just little because of who his parents are. ( I'm just throwing myself out there, it makes me feel better ;)) He was a trooper for the tests! Test one, pee test: I always wondered what they would do for that but they just put a bag with a band aid like seal around it to keep it on under his diaper. Test two, Sweat Chloride test: they rubbed some liquid around his arms and biceps that helps the sweat glands and put a 2x2 gauze on with 4 hook ups to machines that send electricity through for 5 minutes of a constant shock. Little M started to cry as he was in daddy's arms. Then the wrapped his arms up with more gauze and plastic to make him sweat, we had to put a coat on him and wrap him up nice and tight to make sure he would sweat for 30 min. Test 3, blood test: they had to take out enough to do 4 more test so they took it from his arm. He cried when the needle went in but just watched as the blood came out. He did so good! I couldn't handle it I had to go and wait for his prescriptions. I was glad for that! and of course as soon as he saw me he had a huge smile on his face, it melted my heart. I'm so blessed to have such a great little guy I get to raise. We will find out monday or tuesday what he tests come out as.
Please pray for Mason, we hope they all come out with Negatives!!!!
Thanks Alan for missing work and being there for Mason. We both appreciate it!
